India got freedom on 15th August, 1947. We had to struggle hard for freedom. Many people laid down their lives. Every year, Happy Republic Day is celebrated all over the country with great enthusiasm. The national flag is unfurled at all the public buildings. A big hour function is held in Delhi. The President presides over this function. It is worth seeing. on the Republic Day is a national holiday.

There will a great enthusiasm among the people. National three-colour could be seen fluttering from all the Government buildings and important places. The Republic Day fille everyone with national pride. This function is also celebrated in New Delhi with much pomp and show. It starts from the Vijay Chowk and ends at the Red Fort. The whole program is telecast on all T.V. channels. Here the President of India takes the salute. Aeroplanes fly over the Vijay Chowk making a Tri Coloured Indian Flag. It is a sight of worth watching.
